See where premiums really go
Real card and bank transactions from more than 130 million US and EU consumers, resolved to carrier level. Premium payments recur, so the panel sees when they start, continue and stop. Benchmark your market. See which policyholders switch, and to whom. Find growth opportunities. Measure what changed after you acted.
Trial runs on the real product with real data. No credit card. Plans from $990 per month.

01 · understand
See who really shares your policyholders
Every carrier, benchmarked from real premium payments. Not surveys, not filings. Premiums are recurring transactions, so the panel sees each relationship start, continue and stop. Your book and every competitor’s sit in one dataset.
decisions this step settles: who belongs in the competitive set · which leaks to fight first · which customers to defend
Pick the benchmark that matters
Who is winning: premium volume, growth, customer counts and average payment for every carrier in your markets, national mutual to digital challenger, computed from the same panel for all of them.
See the second carrier before the cancellation
12.3% of geico.com customers also paid progressive.com, at $1,300 per customer, in the 12 months to Jul 2026. One policyholder in eight, already holding a second carrier relationship. The consolidation risk, and the consolidation opportunity, visible before renewal.
Churn with a destination
Whom you are losing, and to whom: a cancelled premium does not disappear, it restarts at another carrier. Iceflower names the carrier and what it now collects.
Retention curves, yours and theirs
How long customers actually stay, carrier by carrier. Your book shows your side; the panel shows everyone’s, so churn becomes a benchmark instead of a mystery.
Sample question we answer
“How many of our policyholders already pay a second carrier, and which one?”

Turn the finding into the next move
The segment you just discovered is not a slide. It is an audience, a retention program, a regional campaign or a market entry.
decisions this step settles: which segment gets the program · which regions get budget · which market to enter next
Put budget on the segment you found
Turn any segment into a derived audience for paid social, CRM or any other channel. All privacy-clean: no PII, no individual policyholder targeting. Audiences are built from geography, spending behaviour and spend-derived profiles.
Ask your market overnight
Chat with AI personas built from real spending behaviour, bundled loyalists to price-driven switchers, or field a questionnaire to your segment and read the results in the morning.
Grow where the premiums are
Size premium flows by region, see where your clientele over-indexes, and put the next campaign, product launch or acquisition where the switchable customers already are.
Sample question we answer
“Which regions and clienteles should our acquisition budget target next quarter?”
03 · measure
Did it work?
The same panel that found the opportunity measures the response, continuously and against a baseline. Keep, scale or stop, on evidence.
decisions this step settles: keep, scale or stop · what a rate event really did · when to intervene
Before and after, with a control
Compare a rate change, a campaign or a product launch against competitors or the whole market, not against last year’s loss ratio narrative.
Customers, not just premium volume
See whether growth came from new policyholders or higher payments, who churned in response, and which clientele actually moved.
Always current
The panel updates continuously, so a competitor’s rate move or a switching wave shows up while it is happening, not two filings later.
Sample question we answer
“Our rate increase landed in January. What did it do to switching by spring?”

faq
The questions a seasoned buyer asks first
The short version below. Please reach out in case of further questions.
- What data sits behind the insurance view?
- Real card and bank transactions from a panel of more than 130 million US and EU consumers, resolved to named carriers. Benchmarks, cross-carrier detection and switching are computed from actual premium payments, not surveys or filings.
- Are the numbers on this page real?
- Yes. Every figure was pulled from the live panel in August 2026, with its merchant and time window stated next to it. Rerun them in a trial account and you should see the same numbers, moved by as much as the market has moved since.
- Is this policy or claims data?
- No. Iceflower is merchant-level payment flows: premiums paid per household to named carriers, seen as they start, continue and stop. It does not see policies, coverage or claims. What it adds to your book is exactly what your book cannot show: the competitor’s side of every relationship.
- Can I target individual policyholders with this?
- No, and by design. The panel is de-identified: no PII, no policyholder identities. Activation works at segment level, geographies, spending behaviour and spend-derived profiles, exported as derived audiences. Individual-level outreach stays where it belongs, in your own CRM.
- Does it cover digital-first insurers?
- Yes, in the same dataset. Digital challengers are merchants like any incumbent, so their growth, retention and clientele are directly comparable with the carriers they take customers from.
- Do you see which product a premium pays for?
- Often, yes. Many premium payments name their line in the transaction itself, auto, home, life, and where they do, Iceflower resolves it. Where they do not, product mix is inferred rather than observed. Either way, the stream shows reliably who pays whom, how much, since when, and when it stops: switching, retention and share questions live exactly there.
- Can I see my own book next to competitors?
- Yes. Your carrier appears in the same benchmarks as everyone else’s, computed from the same panel, so the comparison is symmetric and needs no data sharing from your side.
- How do I start?
- Create an account and pick insurance as your category. The 14-day trial runs on the real product with real data.
